We spoke at Back-to-School Night in August about the Fourth-Grade overnight field trip. We will go on this trip in conjunction with Mrs. Mezan’s classroom. The trip will take place the last week of school and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our year together. Please read the attached information sheet and return the form with your deposit ($25.00/guest) by January 23, 2012. Parents are encouraged to attend but not required. Note: here has been a price increase of $26.00 from last year.

Dear Families,
Welcome to our classroom! I know it’s hard to believe we will return to school on Monday morning. I have had a fantastic summer traveling in Colorado, visiting my family in Los Angeles and hanging out at Moonlight Beach with my family. I’m excited to hear about your summer too! I am looking forward to meeting my new class on Monday and getting to know you all. We have an exciting year ahead of us full of exploration and learning.
We will spend the first week of school getting to know each other and becoming reacquainted with school routines. I will meet with parents at Back to School night on Thursday, August 25th from 6:00-6:45pm. At that time we will discuss curriculum, agendas, homework and classroom policies and procedures.
This weekend choose a short novel to read in class during the first week of school. Bring your novel to school on Monday. The novel should be 175-200 pages in length. I have posted a supply list on our classroom website if you are interested in shopping for school supplies this weekend.
Enjoy your weekend, rest up and be ready to learn next week.
